I’m supposed to introduce Alden Richards’ newest official fan club to you on this blog. However, I’m too busy with work-related matters but I just have to tell this latest installment of Agent P’s Life As A Fangirl now or else I’ll never live in peace. #naks #OAsaOveracting

I’ve always said that the only thing I wished for was to see Alden Richards in person. I guess God has other plans for me and I was destined for something more.

The last time I had a close encounter with Alden was on January 31, 2016. Although I’ve known him to have a very good memory when it comes to remembering people’s faces and/or names, I never really expected him to remember who I am as I haven’t really had that many close encounters with him (three, to be exact) and those encounters were just short moments. Thus, while waiting for him to arrive at the launch last Saturday, I had been practicing this opening spiel in my head:

“Hi, Alden! Nag-meet na tayo before.” (We’ve met before)

And then if he asks where, I will tell him where and when.

Never in my wildest dreams did I even imagine that this would happen:

Alden walked into the room, scanned it, made a beeline towards me, gave me a ‘beso’ and said, “Hi, Ms Pau. Kumusta na.” (Hi Ms, Pau. How are you?) :stretcher: I didn’t even need the spiel that I’ve practiced. My brain froze right there that I didn’t even remember hearing those words from him until I saw the video. Thank goodness there’s video! Thank you, Jho, for capturing it!

And then, just as he was about to move on, he saw the photobook at the table. It was my copy of Photobook No. 4: Alden at Sunday PinaSaya. He pointed at it and said, “uy ayan na naman!” And because I was still reeling from the unexpected greeting and I am Agent P who says stupid things in front of famous people, I said, “uh, hindi yan yung sa ‘yo.” (uh, that’s not yours) :lmao: I said it softly, though, so I don’t think he heard me. I hope.

But wait, there’s more! (Actually, there’s soooo much more.) Later on, without being prompted by anything or anyone, Alden himself said these magic words:

“Nasan na yung photobook ko?” (Where’s my photobook?)

I ran and got his copy. Fortunately, my clumsy feet didn’t fail me or else I’ll die of embarrassment right there.

As a fan, a photographer and an obsessed photobook giver, there’s nothing more awesome than seeing your subject leafing through your precious gift and thoroughly enjoying it.

I just find it really amusing that the moment I got formally introduced to his manager and they were told of my day job, I got asked about vehicle license plates. Fortunately, I was aware of the issue and was able to give a response that’s not “sorry, di ko hawak ang LTO.”

Anyway, I will be blogging about Alden International as soon as I have the time. I just have to go back to being an auditor first.

Just a few things I want to say:

1. A few people have told me how I seem to be really close to Alden based on the photos that I’ve shared on social media.

Just to clarify: I’m not close to Alden. I use zoom lens. Like, 30x zoom lens.

2. I get a lot, and I mean A LOT of requests for fansigns and video greets since I’m ‘close’ to Alden.

I don’t mean to offend anyone, but I’m sorry, I can’t grant your requests. One, as I’ve said, I’m not that close in the sense that I don’t park my buns backstage just hanging around with him. I don’t have that kind of clout (yet), and frankly speaking, backstage is pretty boring. Five years of being a bandstalker has given me that experience. Two, I’m too busy covering his events to lug around magazines and fansigns and worry about video greetings. Three, personally, I don’t even ask those things for myself, so how can I make a request for other people?

I have a solution for you: Join Alden International, and make your request to Alden himself.

aka. Aftermath Report: TNT Super Panalo Day, MOA Arena, February 27, 2016

There were so many things that happened at the TNT Super Panalo Day event last Friday, but this is the part that I remembered the most.

So Robin Padilla introduced himself to Maine Mendoza…

(c) Agent P

…and because it’s Robin, he just had to. He kissed her hand…

(c) Agent P

…never mind that the other half of AlDub, Alden Richards, was just beside Maine and looking on.

(c) Agent P

Maine, with the knowledge that Alden is the extremely jealous type (hindi lang halata), immediately checked the reaction of her BF(F)…

(c) Agent P

*aiyeeee!*Ang cute lang.

…and Robin, who’s ever the gentleman and who probably saw how Alden became uneasy with what has transpired (there were video clips to prove it), immediately clarified things with the BF(F)… :hihihi:

(c) Agent P

…who also immediately gave a  to show that he’s ok with it…

(c) Agent P

…because, hello. It’s Robin Padilla. Kidding aside, Robin is like a big brother to Alden. Alden played the younger Robin in the movie 10,000 Hours, a movie that I absolutely loved when I first saw it but I can’t watch seriously now because every time Alden appears on screen I half-expected him to do the pabebe wave during an entrapment operation. :boinkself: Anyway…

(c) Agent P

Both men sealed their understanding with a gentlemanly handshake. However…

(c) Agent P

someone just had to send a message across thru non-verbal means: This woman is MINE. :hihihi: (Note to the dense: his hand at her back means he’s staking his claim on her.)

NOTE: The above text is just me putting silly captions on the photos. Anyone who takes this seriously will be put in a sack filled with cactii (in Tagalog, isasako ko kayo na may kasamang cactus).

This is only the second time that I was able to attend a show where both Alden and Maine are present (third, if we count the MMFF Parade). In both those times, I was seated at an angle where Alden is facing me even if my seats were at the opposite sides of the stage. Majority of my Maine Mendoza photos are those of her back.

(c) Agent P

And in some instances, she’s facing me but her hair – or the back-up dancer :aargh: – would be covering her face.

(c) Agent P

I’m not sure if Fate placed me at those seats because I’m more involved in the Alden-side of the fandom or what. I hope it will change a few days from now, when I cover her event. ;)

I got lucky with a few shots, though. :whee!:

(c) Agent P

(c) Agent P

(c) Agent P

…and this really cute one of Alden as they make their exit from the stage.

(c) Agent P

I still have tons more pics from the event but it’s after 2:00am and I have to get up early for Sunday PinaSaya. More when I feel like it.

Yesterday started out pretty bad. It’s the Annual Malfunctioning Printers and Corrupted Files Season at work, meaning, our printers would act up and/or our USB thumb drives would suddenly get infected and delete everything we’ve been working on just as we’re scrambling to beat our deadlines. :aargh: It always happens every year; this year, I belong to Team Corrupted Files. My thumb drive got infected by a worm when I inserted it to our secretary’s computer so that I can print a report. I literally saw my files getting wiped out, and when I tried recovering them, the thumb drive got corrupted. I spent the entire day trying to salvage whatever I can but the more important files were gone. So now I’m back to square one.

Then I went home, logged on to the internet, and the first thing I saw on top of my Twitter timeline is this Tweet from Alden Richards’ sister Riza Faulkerson:

riza-tweet

 My heart stopped. I can recognize that photo anywhere. The thing with taking photos a certain way is that at first glance you can already tell if it’s your work or not. It’s one of the photos I took from Alden’s Wish I May album launch.

img_5421

I included it in the first photobook that I gave Alden last November 15, 2015 at The District, Imus, Cavite. In this case, Riza took a photo of that page and posted it on Twitter.

This moment, coupled with Maine’s gift to AlDub Nation and AlDub at Tonight With Arnold Clavio totally negated that horrible day I had yesterday. :whee!:

===

In other, totally unrelated news:

I haven’t been in touch with Korean entertainment lately, so it’s only yesterday that I learned that Song Hye Kyo’s Descendants of the Sun will be competing head-to-head against Rain’s Please Come Back, Mister. As if I haven’t been already heavily stabbed, ruined and destroyed by that ship. Why, universe? Why???

Facebooktwitter

…me and my Alden Nation friends had the privilege to be seated at front row (thanks to the good people who made it possible; you know who you are!)

Front row seats today. 😊 #SPSLaughForLuck #AldenNation @aldennation

…and this happened while we were waiting for the show to start. Alden and some of the other cast members were already on stage for the first segment, and I decided to start clicking away with Aqua the Canon SX270 point-and-shoot as we were informed beforehand that photo and video taking will not be allowed while the show is on-air. (The reason being most, if not all, of the people who take photos/video do not pay attention to the show anymore and it won’t look good on camera if the audience is focusing on something else.) At some point, Alden started waving at the fans, and he saw us with the Alden Nation tarp right there in front. He waved at us, and I totally failed to document it because I was dumbfounded and waved back instead of capturing that special moment on camera. :slaphead: But wait..! That wasn’t it. THIS is what happened a couple of minutes later.

*Alden was scanning the crowd…*

(c) Agent P

*Agent P spotted*

(c) Agent P

*Smile for the camera!*

(c) Agent P

:hihihi: Of course, for all I know he wasn’t really looking at me and posing for my camera. Never mind the above evidence. But since this is my blog and this thing is like, every photographer-fan’s dream come true, not to mention that Agent P is notorious for being delusional, I am going to say outright that YES, Alden saw me at the audience and smiled for my camera. Wala kayong pake at walang makakapigil sa ‘kin! :P

Anyway… it just sucks that I was taught by my parents to always follow the rules no matter what. I took the ‘no camera’ rule seriously and didn’t take footage of the first segment even if I had the most perfect vantage point to take good photos of Alden. :wall: Later on when Regine Velasquez sang, they told us to take out our cellphones and turn the ‘flashlight’ on for her number. I took that as an opportunity to use my phone’s camera to take photos in the guise of using my cellphone as lightstick for Regine’s number.

Regine!!! WOOO! #SPSLaughForLuck #SundayPinaSaya

It was then that I realized that I could’ve taken photos from the beginning by stealth because (1) I am using a small camera = easy to hide by just folding my arms and acting nonchalant; and (2) I am an expert at multi-tasking. I mean, the reason for the no-picture-taking rule is just for better audience shots, right? Not to be bragging or anything but I have extensive experience in taking photo coverage of band gigs and concerts; watching the show intently for my coverage on the band’s website and later on, for my blog; remembering everything including audience reaction and participation; AND enjoying the show – or at least, appearing to have enjoyed the show – all at the same time. (See: This blog’s K-Pop Events Aftermath page for samples of my work.) I was able to take more than a hundred photos of the DJ Bae segment while relaxing on my seat and laughing along to the funny parts without my seatmates even realizing that I was taking photos in the process.

It’s all about multi-tasking, baby, and it takes years of practice to make it perfect. Huwag pong gagayahin. Pawang propesyonal po lamang ang nakakagawa n’yan. Joke!
