I was just out for a few hours and now, I logged in and found out that (1) the US concerts had been postponed because (2) some corporation named Rain decided cry for justiceĀ and demand that Rain – the Korean pop sensation (tm) Stephen Colbert – should not be allowed to use the name “Rain” for his US concerts, as they are going to have their own series of concerts for their band of the same name.
OK, where was this corporation when Rain – Jung JiHoon – was having his concerts at Madison Square Garden last year? Where were they when JiHoon, going by the name “Rain”, was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2006? How come they didn’t demand Time to invite their Rain band at the Time 100 dinner? Where was this corporation when JiHoon had his Rain’s Coming World Tour in Las Vegas in December 2006? Why didn’t they cry foul when People Magazine had a Korean guy named Rain in their Most Beautiful list this year? How come they didn’t call Stephen Colbert before to tell him, “who are you calling ‘Rain’, punk??? That name’s OURS!!!”
I swear, if this corporation wins the case, I am losing all confidence in the United States justice system.
