(Mis)adventures in Korea, part 14.

Sub-title: The Molestation of Nami Island, part 2 (this time, with more pics!)

I know I’ve already heaped praises for this man whose Catholic name is Joseph Choi, but I just have to add more. I just received the pics from his cam (thanks to Rizza) and I can’t believe that he actually had his own version of practically all the crazy photos we took at Nami! Woo-hoo! The only one missing is the one where we stood on one foot at wooden pegs with the yellow-colored leaves as background. But I can’t complain, coz this guy basically saved my life as I finally have evidence of how we scandalized Nami Island. :D

Again, komapsumnida, Jin-Seok sshi!

Our unnies are having so much fun… (check out the contrasting yellow and green colors of the leaves…)

This one’s supposed to be a standard Korean pose, but we looked like sheepish kindergarten students instead. (BTW, this pose was art-directed by Joseph)

Story behind this pic: there was a Winter Sonata-inspired display at Nami where you could have your photo taken beside BYJ and CJW’s billboard, or at a fake winter scene. I said, “that doesn’t look interesting at all, unless you love Winter Sonata… however, I am seeing something which looked so much more interesting…” – referring to this statue of a writer (I think). I actually had a funnier pose here, but it was on my cam.

I am so glad the one in my cam is gone… this one is so much better. Love the red leaves…

We don’t have a lover with us, so we just hugged each other instead.

Tita Susan’s moment

I would like to apologize in advance to those who love Winter Sonata to bits… when I saw the statues, I just have to do something crazy. However, I am not responsible for my companions’ actions…

Rizza, Tita Remy and Joseph were supposed to be ‘airborne’ in this pic… however, the photographer had a case of bad timing, so this is what came out.

Re-enacting CJW’s balancing scene with the log (too bad he didn’t have the version with me on the log…)

Waiting for the ferry back to ChunCheon… we look so engrossed checking my cam.

  1. oooh the pics are gorgeous..esp love the red autumn leaves. Is Nami a pilgrimage site? was there a Marian apparition too? remember reading abt one in Korea eons ago..

Sigh, have been sooo wanting to go to Korea in autumn but can’t cos of exams and kids etc.. what the heck.. will just go and read the travelogue and completely do myself in… think wander-lust just bit me on the bottom

  2. moom: No, Nami is the site made famous by Winter Sonata. Naju is the pilgrimage site. But as you can read on my account (Misadventures, Part 9), we didn’t really do some serious pilgrimage-ing there. :glee:

  3. At last some photos of what you did in Nami that was missed in your last entry. I cant help but notice the amused reaction of a lady while tita susan and tita remy did their thing (second photo). And Pau I’m all for what you did to the statue.

  4. pau, i saw Nami pics taken from tita susan’s cam.. She has pictures of you guys stepping on the logs… i’ll have to get it from her so you can add it up in your misadventures.
