It feels great to be always reminded that you’ve got friends who still love you even if you haven’t seen them in a while.

Marissa, a friend from the bandstalker era who, along with Rizza, has introduced me to the world of K-entertainment (note: this is a different ‘Marissa’, not Marissa=Thet), sent me an SMS last weekend. She’s apologizing for forgetting my birthday (I’m not one of those types who remind people about their own birthday, so it’s up to everyone to remember to greet me) and said she and the Crazy Japanese Dude (another friend from the bandstalker era who also happened to forget my birthday) will treat me to dinner as late birthday gift. Of course, who am I to say ‘no’ to free food, right? But it was really sweet of them to remember my birthday even if it’s three weeks late.

So we finally managed to clear our schedules last night and met up in Makati for the dinner. Although they ended up bringing me to the Voltes Team’s favorite Korean hangout (for which I said, “Minsok again??? I’m here every week, sometimes even twice a week!” but who am I to complain when I’m not the one paying for dinner), it’s still nice to catch up with old friends whom I haven’t seen for the longest time (although I spent several hours with the Crazy Japanese Dude last night at MSN because he helped me figure out what’s wrong with my blog). Surprisingly, none of us talked about bands. Well, why should we when we have all moved on (unlike… some people we know. ).

It was a great night, to say the least. Although Marissa kinda ruined it when we passed by a Korean bar/resto and she saw (well, more like my fault coz I was the one who spotted it and pointed it to her) a poster of a certain popular Korean actor who’s modelling promengranate juice and she insisted that we beg the restaurant owner to give us the poster. It’s kind of a blessing in disguise that the Voltes Team was waiting for me nearby and Lai had to go home coz she’s not feeling well, so I had to beg Marissa to just leave the poster alone. But knowing her, I’m sure she’ll go back tomorrow to do her begging.
