…I absolutely have to blog about this first because I have just turned into a major fangurl. AGAIN.
Jtune Entertainment has released the four additional tracks included in Rainism Recollection through some websites in Korea. It’s now available for streaming and (paid) download at the following sites:

I’ve listened to all four tracks and can I just say… I want to meet whoever it was who arranged these tracks because I want to shake his hand and call him a genius.
I was never a fan of Rain’s remixes; the only remix I truthfully liked is Instead of Saying Goodbye. As for his previous acoustic versions, well… if you could call adding some bass lines as ‘acoustic’ version, then so be it.
I think I mentioned here in the past that Rain’s work as songwriter and producer has fully exceeded my expectations, basically because I didn’t raise my bar that high on him. I mean, considering that his previous songwriter/producer was JYP, and as much as I don’t really like the guy I do admit that he’s a genius in that department. But Rainism, for me, has been Rain’s best work, so far (well, except for the English lyrics of Rainism, but that’s a minor slip up) and Rainism Recollection has just cemented that fact.
Fresh Woman Remix did not divert itself too far from the original, but it’s an entirely different version altogether (unlike Rainism Remix, which is basically the same song with a slightly longer intro; I honestly can’t tell which is which whenever it crops up on my playlist). That’s Love (Acoustic version) is typical Paolo Santos-Nyoy Volante fare if you’re a Pinoy listener. But since majority of Rain’s listeners are not Pinoy, it might not matter at all. September 12 (Acoustic version)… could that song BE any sadder?? Apparently, with this version, it can. By the way, have you seen the MV for this? There’s one part there that I couldn’t shake off for some reason: the part where he sat down the moving escalator with one hand holding his wristwatch while the other one rummaged through his hair. I don’t know why but felt a lot of sadness in there. What made it sadder is, it’s supposed to be behind-the-scene footage and he’s not acting.
Anyway, that’s just AgentP with her over-analysis of things.
The one song that has totally, completely, turned me into a major fangurl is none other than, My Girl (Acoustic version).
The arrangement was just awesome. I love the jazzy feel of this that I feel like sending a file of this along with the original version to a certain rock band I know who recently came up with a so-called jazz album which turned out to be an epic fail.
I can totally picture Rain doing an MTV Unplugged show with this one. Say what, Unplugged and Rain??? Who would’ve thought, huh?
Seriously. Whoever re-arranged My Girl is a genius.
And because I love this version so much - as if I haven’t loved this song from the very start - here it is for your listening pleasure:
NOTE: Before anyone starts lecturing me about leeching and illegal posting of music files, let me just tell you that I already lifted my boycott on Rain and have pre-ordered 3 copies of Rainism Recollection 2 days ago. And past history of this blog shows that I have managed to lure people to buy their own copies of Rain’s releases because of my magical convincing powers (nyahaha!). Let’s see other sites which can do that…

I never thought I would love My Girl more than I already do!
And somehow it makes me not want him to sing it on his concert tour because it’s SO special that I want only her to experience it live. XD Of course, if that someone is there, it’s a different story.
Yeah, the escalator part..he looks like the world fell apart in front of him.
hi! where can i order/buy the rainism recollection? … and how much would it probably cost me?… is it available here in the philippines? …thanks!
nefertiti: I bought it online. I’m not sure if it will be available here. It’s a limited edition release and we’re not exactly a priority market.
By the way, another reason to buy Rainism Recollection for us Pinoys: the photobook that came with the album contains his Six to Five photos taken in Cebu.
And it seems they listened to fan suggestions. They included never-before-seen photos in there.
thanks, agentP! i searched online, did you bought yours at yesasia? i’ve been a bikyo fan since full house era but this will be the first time that i’ll be buying rain and/or bikyo-related stuff
Yes, I bought it from YesAsia.
Someone from CloudPh said we could order from OK! Books in Makati, too. It’ll cost php2,000.
I am sold on the Rainism remix…will try the Ktown record stores here! Agent P is the photobook nice?
zashi: I haven’t received my copy yet, but based on what was posted at the forums, it seems to be nice.
I also ordered the Recollection but what I didn’t realize at the time is that the DVD was of the making of Love Story with HJW. I didn’t like the idea that he chose her and I still don’t. I thought the DVD was MVs of the Remix songs. Oh well! The four remix songs are actually the four songs that I like the most on the album which I had already bought but it’s good. Miss Bikyo. Wish there was something going on there.
