I’ve been actively participating in the daily Alden HTs on Twitter but today, I found it extremely difficult to do so.
Today’s HT: #WelcomeToMyWorlDEN, in which we are asked to share snaps of our personal life so that A-fans, aka. The Blueys, may get to know each other better.
I have always been un-anonymous. My face has been very much exposed here on this blog, on social media, even on print and television for as long as I have been an active fangirl. That is, until some time in 2016 when I got plunged into this current fandom of mine where a small misunderstood post may cost you your entire life. And I’m not even exaggerating.
I used to unabashedly post my selfies with Alden, until people started pointing out my physical flaws – and boy, they are too many – that now, all my selfies with him are buried deep into my treasure chest of memories. Heck, I can’t even share my moments with him no matter how wonderfully happy they are, without a horde of socmed zombies crashing onto my party and ruining the memories. I just can’t let that happen anymore.
Mind you, I’m not even referring to just ADN or M-fans. Some of them are just within my own backyard, and they are more ruthless.
I know I shouldn’t let other people run my life. But it is what it is.
