Yep. Rain IS coming.

Pigs are flying.

It’s confirmed. Rain is, indeed, coming back to Manila. :whee!:

Just to summarize and recap:

– The title of the show is Rise2Shine.
– The concert is on November 3, 2017.
– Ticket selling will start on September 29, 2017.
– Ticket prices are not announced yet (in case anyone will ask  )
– It’s a benefit concert.
– Rain is just the main act. It’s going to be an all-star show, with special surprise guests.
– The other artists joining the concert are not announced yet.

Are you guys ready? Start iponing now, we still have time.

Here’s the part where I will insert my personal blabber on this latest development.

1. November 3? THAT’S MY MOM’S BIRTHDAY. We’ve already planned an out-of-town trip for that. I’m going to have to find a way to be at both events. Anyone here who knows where I can learn to Apparate in 1.5 months?

2. So Rain will not be the only artist on this show. There will be other artists and he’s just a main act. Anyone else getting “INTENSITY featuring RAIN & U-KISS with Special Guest Christian Bautista” feels right now?

3. And while we’re on that subject, I guess we should also stop referring to this event as a ‘concert’. Flashback to 2010, when we were given an impromptu lesson on how Koreans label an event. If the artist is onstage for less than two hours, it’s not a ‘concert’ but a ‘SHOW’. Rain will probably do a one-hour set at the most, so it’s not a concert. Not his, anyway. It’s a show, featuring him and other artists.

4. Having said that, I will be wary of any press conferences that he will have here, especially if said press conference will not include the other artists on the show’s roster. Just sayin’.

5. To whoever is producing this show:

I highly recommend that you seek some pointers from the promoters of Intensity. Assuming it’s a different group, that is.

Aftermath: “Thank You For 30” Cebuana Lhuillier 30th Anniversary Concert
01 September 2017 – Mall of Asia Arena

This is one of those beautiful accidents that I didn’t plan on happening, but it did.

Around 2:00pm, 1st of September. I was busy twiddling my thumbs at home when I received a message from a certain someone, asking me if I’m watching the Cebuana Lhuillier concert happening that very same day. I said no, I don’t have a ticket. She said she has some, and she’s giving it to me and my fellow ‘no-group’ friends. Her only reason: she wants me to be there. Ok, then. Who am I to say, ‘no’ to that? :hihihi: I’ve been really wanting to see this show because, hello. Alden Richards and Sarah Geronimo. And then JaDine was announced as surprise guests just the night before. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to score tickets #longstory but I guess the universe – or certain, uhm, *someones* :phew: – really wants me to witness this.

So I took a quick shower, grabbed my super-zoom cameras which were, thankfully, fully-charged, and hurried towards Mall of Asia Arena for the Thank You For 30 concert.

Testimonial.

Aftermath Report: Alden Richards “Upsurge”
Kia Theater – 27 May 2017

It took me a while to gather my thoughts before I was able to write this blog entry. I was contemplating on how I should write this: should I give a blow-by-blow account? Should I nitpick on the technical aspects? Should I be lazy and post my comments in bullets? Should I just post a photo gallery to be safe?

As I was choosing the material that I will post on this entry – a task that involves sorting through 2,370 photos :aargh: – I realized that a blow-by-blow account nor a concert review will not do justice to the entire experience.

The concert that I went to on May 27, 2017 was not a concert. It was a testimonial. A testimonial to the life, so far, of one Richard Reyes Faulkerson, Jr., known to majority of the public as Alden Richards.

Look who’s back.

I’ve been out of the loop with everything Korean for the past year and a half, but this is the one thing that I’ve been looking forward to ever since Rain started hyping about it.

Those flawless dance moves. That haunting voice. And that cute surprise at the end. This is Vintage Rain, the Rain that most of us loved. He’s back, bitches. The fact that the song is produced by Psy is an added bonus.

It’s just sad that this is just a single and is not even a part of a mini-album. I wanna hear more!

Welcome back, Jung Ji Hoon.
