For this installment of Food, Glorious Food, I will be talking about the stuff I eat at work. Majority of which are not at all healthy and yes, I am very much aware of it.
My only excuse for this is: I’m too stressed dealing with all the office politics and stuff; at least let me eat something that will make me happy.
My profession allows me to go on field work a lot and one of the perks of being a government auditor is you get to be well-fed by your clients most of the time. At least that’s what it used to be. Nowadays I don’t get that kind of privilege because my current boss doesn’t allow it, and on the rare times that we do get away with it, she starts chanting stuff like, “watch out for your blood pressure!”, “you’re drinking Coke again? You’ll get Diabetes!”, “look at me, all my vitals are normal because I don’t eat fatty food!”, etc etc as if trying to make us feel guilty for savoring the joys of eating.
As one of my staff once said, “wala ka ngang diabetes, hindi ka naman masaya sa buhay mo!” (translation: You may not have diabetes, but you don’t live a happy life!) Anyway… (sorry, just had to slip that rant out) the below photos came from one of my water district stints last year, when I had a different boss:

I finally was able to tear myself away from playing Fishdom2 (a game that’s kid’s stuff but I can’t seem to stop playing) to post the first of my series of food write-ups, aka. filler stuff while there’s nothing going on with the showbiz portion of this blog. I found a lot of previously unpublished food pics on my files so I decided to divide them into specific topics instead of posting all of them in one go.
I’ll start off with something that made me reminisce my childhood days.

Aftermath Report: Super Junior Super Show 2, Araneta Coliseum, 10 April 2010.
Notice that I used “Aftermath” instead of “Review”. This is because I may not be able to give a truthful review of this concert because I actually don’t consider this show as a ‘concert’.
(Interestingly enough, I started writing this entry with SuJu’s Sorry Sorry - Answer blaring on my computer speakers.
I blame the media player’s random play for this.)
To explain the ‘Mt. Everest’ bit: we got seated - well no, “stood up” is the more appropriate term because I never even got seated at all - at the last row of General Admission, literally just a few feet away from the Big Dome’s ceiling. So this is what Araneta Coliseum’s ceiling looks like up close. Scary!
Anyway, we got GenAd tickets because as much as we are all out in supporting any K-pop artist who comes here in our country for whatever reason, we - well, I - am not a big fan enough to spend a lot of money on Super Junior. Their tickets are so pricey, although look at me talking about pricey tickets when I spent something like USD250 for tickets of a glorified mall show featuring Rain.
We would’ve taken more expensive seats if the pricing isn’t as insane as charging almost USD100 for Upper Box which is literally just a few steps away from General Admission which costs a little over USD20.
SVIP is relatively cheap for me, I mean comparing it to Rain’s ticket prices it’s basically the same, but as I’ve said, I’m not a fan. I even despise one of their members (you know, the guy who hates fat girls when he’s fat himself
). I just went there to have something to blog about. Hence, you are now reading the most expensive blog entry I’ve ever written.
Also, as much as we should’ve gone to Araneta early to get better seats at GenAd (the section is free seating so you have to come early in order to get good seats), we are not crazy enough for SuJu to spend hours in that summer heat just to get good seats. This group is not worth getting hospitalized for hypertension. So while most of Kpopland have started lining up as early as dawn, we went to Araneta less than one hour before the show. We ended up not getting any seats at all, which is actually a bad idea because it means we’ll have to stand up for the entire duration of the 3-hour show. We did not think this through.
Well, at least we avoided heat stroke…
I’ll just do the rest of this write-up in bulleted form since it’s simpler that way:

There’s a saying that if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. This is one of those moments.
We didn’t plan to go to SM Clark for the U-KISS promo. For one thing, the venue is not in Manila. It’s not even in the suburbs of Manila. Those amongst us who had vehicles had things to do on Saturday and personally, I’m not that much of a fan yet to make the effort to commute all the way to Angeles City just for that. For me to make that effort, Rain must come to the Philippines for a promo tour. However, it was so tempting to go there. Since the venue is not in Manila, there is a big possibility that there won’t be as many people who will attend the event unlike in Megamall and especially at North EDSA. I know that a lot of students who missed the Megamall leg due to final exams are going to flock to SM North. So if we want to get an up-close experience with U-KISS, SM Clark is the best option. Also, Charity and Lou have missed the show last Friday because they got caught up at work (Lou caught the autograph signing; Charity arrived just minutes after U-KISS have left the building) so they haven’t had their U-KISS fix yet. Cha is willing to drive to Clark; however, Saturday was her father’s birthday. She said she’ll let us know if her father is in a good mood enough to allow her to leave after she treats him to lunch.
The following morning, I got a call from Cha. Clark is a ‘go’.

Finally, here’s the first of my U-KISS blog entries. I was supposed to post this yesterday but we ended up going to SM Clark in exchange to fighting tooth and nail with the rest of the Pinoy Kpop community at SM North EDSA today. Which turned out to be a very good decision because as of noontime today, I heard that there’s already at least a thousand fangirls waiting for U-KISS’ show which won’t start until 5:00pm. Also, Charity and Lou’s U-KISS mission became a success in Clark, details of which I will post on the next entry (unless I get distracted by a certain singer who’s releasing his mini-album next week again).
Back story for those who just chanced upon this blog while searching for stories and photos of U-KISS’ Philippine promo tour: Last February, me and my friends went to Korea and one of the things we did there was to watch SBS Inkigayo live at the studio. Since we are neither Korean nor residents of Korea and we don’t have tickets to the show, we ended up asking several fan clubs if they could spare us a ticket or two and it was U-KISS’ fan club which graciously helped us even if they know that we’re not exactly U-KISS fans (the full story here). To show our gratitude to their kindness, we vowed to support U-KISS once they do their promotional tour here.
U-KISS’ first stop was at SM Megamall last Friday, March 26. I’ve been following the goings-on at Megamall through Kairu who was there as early as 9:00AM (see her blog for her fan account) and I was told that as early as the mall’s opening at 10:00am, there were already more than 100 people who have lined up to buy the CD for the autograph signing and to gain access to the cordoned-off area, which should be more appropriately called the Death Zone. I was personally not going to gun for it since I’m not really a fan and for that kind of effort, C.N. Blue at the very least must come to the Philippines for a promo tour. However, I decided to go there as early as I could, hoping that I can still find a good spot to take photos and watch the show.
I got there at around 3:30pm, and this is what welcomed me:
